2010 Hybrid Car Challenge
Honda has announced the price tag on the new Insight.The base model Insight is priced almost $4000 below the base price of the Prius. The lower MSRP earns the 2010 Insight the title of most affordable hybrid in the U.S.
The Honda has a great system that will help educate the driver how to drive more economically and thus save fuel.The Honda has a driving setting that will either increase the performance of the vehicle or decrease the perfrmance in the hope of getting better fuel economy.The integrated motor assist helps out the puny hybrid engine by giving it a horepower boost via and electric motor. Th IMA system is cheaper to manufacture, lighter than the original, and adds to the overall interior space. I-VTEC helps the Insight where power and efficiency is concerned. Features included on some Insight models are: alloy wheels, cruise control, 6 speaker audio with USB interface, steering wheel mounted paddle shifters, Stability Assist, and a satellite navigation system with voice recognition. The goal of Honda is to make the Insight the top dog in the hybrid market, and this would entail selling more cars then the ever populat Prius.
Opposed to the Insight is the Prius with a 160-hp 1.8L motor has a couple of different driving settings. These 3 moeds include the power mode which of course adds more power, the EV mode which allows the Prius to run on electricity alone, and the ECO mode which nets the best fuel economy.Toyota has a new Smart Collision system called the PCS which is available on the new Prius.Just set the PCS and the Prius will slow down by itself if the car ahead of you suddenly hits his brakes. The Prius also includes a new touch sensor system on the steering wheel to ensure safe driving.
Even though the Insight has won the batlle of the price tags, the Prius still has a better MPG rating.Right now the MPG ratings for the new Insight are at 40 MPG in the city and 43 MPG on the highway, and the Prius comes in at 48 MPG city and 45 MPG on the highway.Traveling more than 20,000 miles in only 365 days (when gas is $2.50 a gallon), the Toyota would only cost just over $1000 every year and the Honda would come in $200 more. At this rate it would take over 25 years to recover the cost you spent on a Prius where yearly gas savings are concerned. So although the Prius gets better gas mileage; the Insight overcomes that hurdle by having such a low MSPR!

How to make the heater control switch to change in my 1988 Chrysler Fifth Avenue?
I can't get the heater controls to switch from the windshield to the vents or floor. All it does is blow at the windshield. I replaced the control switch and vacuum hoses inside the car. Still nothing. What could be wrong?
The air actuator doors are vacuum controlled. Defrost is the default setting meaning if there is no vacuum this is how it operates..Look under hood for broken vacuum line near firewall or heater hoses . The sticker with your engine info (usually on hood) may be helpful for tracing the vacuum line .
Also check vacuum canister.
