Fast: I would look at Dawn Redwood (Metasequoia), I love it. It has a very unique texture in the spring and summer, it's fall color is bronze, and in the winter it has a beautiful exfoliating bark.
Though not very fast, maybe Maidenhair tree (Ginkgo). Branching is very ridged (in tiers), again an interesting texture, and nice fall color.
Pagoda Dogwood (Cornus alternifolia) is a smaller tree, with some flowering. Again, a very good fall coloration.
