Whirlpool Refrigerator Defrosting too long?
I have a freezer-on-top Whirlpool refrigerator model: ST21HPXLQ01. It had a cooling problem earlier which I fixed by changing the evaporator motor. During the day when the refrigerator/ freezer is used frequently (i.e. it is opened often), there is no problem with freezing or refrigeration. However, at night when it is not used as frequently, it tends to stay in defrost mode too long. The way I get it going again is either opening the fridge or turning the thermostat.
Anybody have any ideas how to fix this?
if you had this thing under warranty, and if it Stihl is under warranty. you messed up big time here. bye fixing the unit yourself it now voids the warranty. i would suggest calling the manufacturer, if its still under warranty, but if you mention too them that you went ion and tinkered around and or try ed fixing the unit they will void the warranty. your only recourse is either buy another unit, or try calling in another repair person. your stuck. lesson learned if you have a warranty don't try fixing it yourself. huge mistake
