Motorized valve wont work on furnace, is it dangerous to go without? For second floor?? PLEASE READ?
We have three motorized valves on our gas furnace...hot water baseboard heat. Currently we found out that our second zone valve isnt working (openingt and closing) so the second floor baseboards arent working. We can't afford to fix it right now, but I want to be sure it isn't dangerous to leave it that way? Also is it costing us more fuel because it calls for heat over and over but doesn't have the valve working? Thanks in advance! Our furance is 8 years old btw if that matters.
The most logical answer is a burned out second floor thermostat. the second fix is a bad zone valve. Most of these valve can be manually opened if you remove the front cover.
