Gibson furnace burners cut out after 5 seconds. ignitor turns off after burner turns on.?
You have an electronic furnace, NO PILOT or Thermocouple.
On the side furthest away from the IGNITOR is a small sensor called the flame sensor. That makes sure the flame has reached the furthest burner from the Ignitor.
Near that furthest burner find that "flame sensor". Its a kind of a thin thing about a quarter inch in diameter and has two lead wires going back to the electronic controls.
Clean that good with a fine paper like a 600 grit no rougher. and put it back. Try the furnace.
You might need a new one. Go to www.heatcoolparts.com and look on there for the part #. All you need is model #. For that look on housing on far left side in the burner section inside the furnace.
Replacing the furnace ignitor in my central unit.
