Does the control arm bearing bolt, the one near the radiator frame, have to be inserted only one way ---from the front of engine? Or is it alright to do it the much easier way which is the other end?

The welded bracket holding the radiator actually gets in the way of the bolt. It looks like MB had the entire suspension assembled before it is welded to the car body frame.
It's easy to remove the bolt from the control arm because the bushing is ruined anyway. But it is virtually impossible to insert when the bushing is new. does it make any difference if the bolt is inserted the other way?
You can try bolt insertion from the front side, but be especially careful of interference from the fan blades and/or lock nut.
