My senior year of college I was trying to get some last minute tips and nuggets of wisdom to prepare me for my jump into full-time youth ministry.  So I met with the Jr. High Pastor I was working as a volunteer for and asked him a few questions.  One of the questions I asked was, “What are some of your most valuable resources?”

And without hesitating he told me, “The Youth Assistant”

Now, I know I’m dating myself a little, but I took his advice and if I was asked the same question as I asked the Jr. High Pastor I would respond the same way. Youth Assistant simply helps me to gather information about my students and be able to see it all in just a few clicks.

In addition, Youth Assistant gives me simple searches to show groups of students that fit almost any criteria I request.  That in itself would be helpful enough, but Youth Assistant and Nspire have gone so much further to include attendance tracking, event information, and even financial data.  I no longer have to keep contact information in one spreadsheet while having three separate files for the other information; Youth Assistant puts all my needed information at my fingertips. It’s just incredible.

Simply as a warehouse of information, it’s worthwhile, but Youth Assistant and Nspire seek to help you use that information to keep up with your students as much as possible.  You can email and send text messages directly from the software and with the “Print to Word” function, you can practically print any report you can imagine.

If you’re creative and tech-savvy, the possibilities are endless.  If you’re not, like me, Youth Assistant and Nspire will be easy for you to use, save you time, and will do everything you could think of in a church management program.
