Communication is Key

Communication, communication, communication. It is hard to believe something so fundamental to our society and existence is so complicated. In any area of life this is true. Marriage – I cannot tell you how many times my wife has asked, "Did you take out the trash?" And what I heard was, "Will you take out the trash?" I always answer yes and get in trouble every time. Friendships – They just do not work if you do not talk to one another. Could say the same about marriage. There is nothing better in life than a good friend you trust and can talk to. Work/Church – L. Rife, one of my favorite co-workers, likes to challenge us all by saying, "I know you think you understood what you thought I said but what you heard is not entirely what I meant." This is so true. We get so busy thinking about what we are going to say next that we do not really hear what was said. This really gets you at Church. God – Jesus’ life was one characterized by prayer. Why would the very Son of God need to pray so much. Because it is impossible to have a healthy relationship with a God to Whom you do not speak. I am always amazed at how poor a job we humans do communicating with one another. It happens in all areas of our lives. It happens when you call for help with our software too. We use a very comprehensive software system to track our calls and support tickets. To be honest, sometimes people do not get communicated with the way they expect. Here are my suggestions on how to get the best support from N-Spire…

  1. Do not put it off. When you have a problem or question call or send us an E-mail. Waiting just puts off help. Also, don’t wait till the last minute. Sometimes an issue may take time to resolve.
  2. Do not forget about it. If you feel like you are getting lost in the shuffle, communicate, communicate, communicate. Do not be like so many people, we are all so busy, and wait months before following up.
  3. We should always ask how you can be reached, but if we do not, make sure we have your contact information up to date.
  4. Our lowest call volumes are between 1:00pm and 3:00pm(CT), Monday – Tuesday and Thursday – Friday.
  5. Be at your computer and be available. Sometimes problems go away by themselves. Think Forrest Gump. However, in software, they do not. Help us by giving us the time and patience it takes to get though your questions and technical issues.

I wish I could make communication easy. It is not. As for me, I am just going to keep talking and Praying.
